Ang isa sa pinaka importanteng tanong na mahalaga sa ating buhay: "How can I be saved?" deals with where we will spend eternity after our lives in this world are over. There is no more important issue than our eternal destiny.
Malinaw naman sa paguusap na ito kung papaano tayo maliligtas. The Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”(Acts 16:30). Paul and Silas responded, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31).
The Bible says very clearly that we are not saved by faith alone. Works do have something to do with our salvation. Numerous passages in the New Testament will show that we will be judged by our works, not by whether or not we have faith alone.
Friends, as Catholics we believe that we are saved by God’s grace alone. We can do nothing, apart from God’s grace, to receive the free gift of salvation. We also believe, however, that we have to respond to God’s grace.
In Galatians 5:6, “For when we are in union with Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor the lack of it makes any difference at all; what matters is faith that works through love.”
Love Him today at The Feast.
Pangarap mo’y kayang abutin,
