Just Say Yes

Our deepest wounds surround our greatest gifts. “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.” (1 Corinthians 1:26-29)

In the genealogy of Jesus were 4 surprising characters: Tamar, who slept with her with father-in-law; Bathsheeba, an adulteress; Ruth, who was from Moab, a sinful place; and Rahab, a prostitute. God could have chosen better people. But if they were good enough to become ancestors of Jesus, God can really use anyone.

God never looks at how bad we were. He looks forward to how He can get closer to you once you come back to His arms. He’s excited about your giftedness and looks at what’s beautiful – beyond the masks that you put on yourself. He uses anyone who has the heart to be changed to be a better blessing to others.

Just like Peter. Peter was temperamental, impulsive, violent, and a coward.  Yet Jesus still chose him to be the leader of the disciples. God chooses the imperfect and perfects their imperfections with His grace. In the Bible, we have a lot of them:

                • Abraham (too old)
                • Gideon (too fearful)
                • Moses (too ungifted)
                • David (too frail)
                • Zacheus (too greedy)
                • Mary Magaldene (too sinful)
                • The Samaritan woman (too many husbands)
                • Mother Mary (too unknown)

The very qualities we're most ashamed of, the ones we keep trying to reshape or hide, are in fact the key to finding our real core gifts. God will not waste your weakness. He will put it to a weak end. The inspiring story of former bold star, Myra Manibog, was then presented as was Bro. Arun Gogna’s. They both said, “Yes” to God.

God only needs our “Yes,” He will take care of the rest.
